Our bespoke service can take orders of non-standard services such as this.
Do you need a different size or shape altogether? If so then please get in touch and we can provide expert advice and guidance through our bespoke service.
Size Guide Approximations: Please be aware that unlike other manufactures we don’t class the mattress cover in the overall mattress depth. Other companies will add 1-3cm onto the over all depth of the mattress using the cover and quilt undulations as part of the foam which we find misleading. We at John Ryan don’t think this is fair practice, so omit this 1-3cm off the over all depth of the mattress. Please be aware when choosing your mattress it maybe slightly deeper than listed due to the cover and undulations. We therefore advise you wait until your mattress arrives before purchasing additional covers and sheets to make sure they fit.

Mrs Law
I think that I should replace my mattress for my adjustable double bed. I am the only user – about 10st7lb. Most nights the adjustable facility is used as I sit up in bed to watch TV. Please can you advise me what mattress would be most suitable.
Thank you
For adjustable beds we usually recommend foam beds, particularly latex as these are the most responsive and robust which is key when the mattress is being adjusted and moved on a frequent basis. You also need to bear in mind the weight limits for your adjustable mattress which usually come with the instructions.
For your weight I’d ask you to look at our reduced height range in the medium, these fusion mattresses are 100% natural solid core latex and can be found here. If you need any advice please get back in touch. – Lee

I am looking for two mattresses 100cm x 200cm to fit a continental bed. Can you help? Thank you for your help.
Hi Bob, We do continental bed sizes but the sizes you’ve given are not continental, unless they’ve been mistyped!!
The sizes we supply in mattresses are found here on our site.
I’d need a bit more information such as body weight, preferred tension and height to recommend a mattress for you, alternatively if you give us a call we can help.
If you do need a completely bespoke size we can do this but this would not be covered by our 30 day love it or return it guarantee. Lee
Neil
Hello, I would like a soft 100% latex topper but my bed mattress size is 2100 x 870mm. Do you make non standard sizes and what would the cost be (and shipping to the Isle of Wight; PO30 4DL)?
Thank you.
Hi Neil, Thats a very specific size bed! Am I right that its a 6”9 long single? We can do bespoke sizes, they are however excluded from the Love it or return it guarantee being non standard, but we don’t deliver to the Isle of Wight I’m afraid.
We have had customers in the past who have arranged for the bed to be delivered to a port and then their own courier to collect and take to the Isle of Wight.
Our latex toppers are a medium 70kg density so might not be suitable if you’re wanting soft I’m afraid. If you want to call us to discuss any of this and potential toppers please give us a ring Neil. – Lee

I’ve got a non-standard bed frame 6 foot 9.5 inches by 5 foot 2.5 inches internal measurements. I think it was once a four-poster. I’ve fitted plywood slats. How much would a Fusion 2 latex 80/20 firm mattress cost to fit this frame? Would firm feel very firm on the slats? I’m wondering if it might be best to go for an 6’6” mattress by 5’2” which will fit standard sheets, with a 3.5in slab of foam with same cover material as the mattress at the head end? Would that be possible/sensible??
Andy
Hi Andy, Thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like an interesting base! What I would suggest first and foremost after fitting the slats that you board them with MDF or plywood as the latex model you’re looking at is only recommended for flat consistent surfaces. If you put it directly on slats you may find the latex conforms not only to your body as you sleep but the slats its placed on. You can end up with slight undulations if not careful you see.
I would need to know your weight and height to advise on the correct tension for your mattress.
As of the 3.5 inches difference, my advice would be not to try and fill it wit foam. I would advise that by the time sheets and a duvet are neatly tucked under the end of the bed the gap will be negligible. I think the foam block would just get in your way and make changing the bedding somewhat frustrating!! You could order a bespoke size mattress to fit this size, being aware that mattresses/furniture come with a +/-2cm tolerance for sizing any way. This could be done for you but I’d need to price it accordingly. The option is however yours to choose.
The Fusion 2 in European Kingsize is £1200. If you want any more information Andy please just give us a call. – Lee
