The Hybrid 4 combines a triple layer mattress construction method to provide a truly supportive mattress with deep progressive comfort. This is a very deep mattress offering four combined layers to give you the most advanced Hybrid Foam mattress. This advanced mattress is a soft – medium tension. Offering an initial soft comfort layer before medium support.
The core mattress combines a Memory Foam top layer, supported by a responsive Laygel layer and then a supportive Relfex layer. This is then complimented with a Laygel deep topper to provide a soft top comfort layer before the sleeper sinks into the firmer progressive layers. The Laygel center gives the mattress added bounce to simulate a spring unit. This mattress gives you the best of both Memory Foam for its mouldable qualities and Laygel for its light responsive nature.
This mattress is ideal for a 10-14 stone sleeper at a medium tension and for a 14-18 stone sleeper at a soft tension
This mattress comprises of:
– 7.5cm of gel infused 60kg density Laygel Foam topper
– 21cm Core Mattress made up of 6cm of heat reactive 40kg density Memory Foam on 5cm of gel infused 60kg density Laygel both of which sit on 10cm base of supportive Reflex Foam NB – Sometimes the laygel layer of the mattress is a peach colour, this is exactly the same foam but sometimes for the core we use either the dark blue laygel or peach laygel it depends on the supply in our factory. The only difference is the colour.
Comparisons:
The nearest comparison to this mattress would be the Tempur Cloud Deluxe 22 [Nov 2013 KS £1799] for its three layers but our Hybrid uses Laygel which Tempur dont. The Tempur Cloud is also only 22cm in depth whereas the Hybrid 5 is 28.5cm offering you deeper layers.
Other gel style foam products such as igel Atalanta from Bensons [Dec 2013 KS £1499] provides 31cm of depth, but again gives you no information around the foam, density or hardness. Our Hybrid 5 provides a total of 4 layers of Hybrid foams with the exact density provided for each.
The difference with our range is that they all come with removable deep toppers, giving you more mattress and comfort for your money. This is a 28.5cm deep mattress providing a number of deep comfort layers.

FANTASTIC bed and FANTASTIC service
Our brand new king-size memory foam Hybrid 4 arrived a few weeks ago and we couldn’t be happier. Not only is it by far the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, the service we received from John Ryan was top notch. We were pleasantly surprised at the thickness of mattress and the mattress topper is a great addition!
The two delivery guys, Mike and Jonathan kept us in the loop on the arrival time of the bed and delivered at a convenient time by phoning phoning us to make sure we were in.
The only beds we will ever buy now are John Ryan by Design ones.

I bought a Hybrid 4 from John Ryan Contemporary after trying the Tempur Cloud. The tempur was so expensive I wanted something that felt similar without the expense. I got some great advice from Lee and he talked me through both the construction method and how the laygel layer thing gives the bed bounce in the middle and a soft top. Not sure exactly how it works but I took the advice and the bed is fantastic. Exactly what we wanted at a price that was sensible! I’d recommend John Ryan and any one tempted by Tempur but put off by their prices and guarantee exceptions!! Andy
